Dept. of gift ideas – Donations in someone’s name

Students First Students Now

Two donation-worthy thingies that are close to my heart:

Jean Schulz, the widow of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, has issued a challenge to cartoon art lovers everywhere: she will match every dollar donated to Ohio State University’s Cartoon Library and Museum through March 9, 2014, up to $2.5 million. (I believe that this is the largest collection of it’s kind. A one-of-a-kind resource.) Learn more here.

If you’re a reader of this here blog, you know that the National Cartoonists Society Foundation is pretty important to me. (I’m on the board of directors and organize the Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship.) The NCSF was formed in 2005 to continue the charitable and educational works that have been a hallmark of the NCS since its inception in 1946. Learn more here.
